This Blog Is Now Closed

Ahhhhh the day has come.  It’s time for me to officially turn the page in my blogging career and close the doors on Rock That Look.

Some of you know that I have started a new project, Beyond The Drop.  My life has shifted in such a way that beauty blogging is no longer fitting with my lifestyle and it’s becoming unnatural for me to be represented here.  Rather than carrying the heavy weight of guilt and obligation that comes with every new product that is sent my way, I thought it best to make peace with this reality and declare that I am no longer a beauty blogger.

I started this blog just short of five years ago, as a way to showcase my portfolio (and personality) as a freelance makeup artist.  Before I knew it, blogging took over the artistry and I found myself in a community of amazing and influential beauty bloggers in Toronto.  As my profile grew, so did my aspirations and I soon took on music writing.  Just like beauty blogging, music writing has become more than I ever thought it would be, and now I find myself the Editor In Chief and Partner in an amazing new project.

I have to say, the journey of Rock That Look has been amazing.  The opportunities I have been presented with and the people I have met along the way are unforgettable.  I am so appreciative of everyone who has supported me – readers, friends, family, brands, PR reps and fellow bloggers – I wouldn’t be where I am today without the foundation I built here, and I wouldn’t have gotten there without you.

To clear up any outstanding work:  if you are a PR professional or brand rep who is waiting for coverage from me, you will be hearing from me very soon.  I will honour our relationship and will absolutely find an outlet to write my pieces on your products/experiences.  If you are a fashion or lifestyle brand and still want to work together, please email me at anjali@beyondthedrop.com and we can connect about coverage on BTD – there will be no further posts on Rock That Look.

If you are a reader of this blog and want to stay connected, feel free to follow and engage with me on Twitter and Instagram (@anjali_handa for both) or email me at any time at anj.handa@gmail.com.

I am still supporting the beauty blogger community by sitting on the Executive Team of Spark Sessions – and am certainly hoping to contribute and empower the next generation of fashion and beauty bloggers through the work that we do there.

Now, I may have a new blog emerging soon… if/when that happens, I’ll be sure to leave a link here.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed to the journey of Rock That Look.  It’s been a slice!

– Anjali xoxo
