In keeping with the Dress & Wedges theme, last Tuesday I rocked one of my favourite outfits of the week. When I saw the dress hanging on the rack I was a tad hesitant as to whether the shape would suit me, but my new motto is you don’t know if you don’t try – so that I did. I tried and I liked and I bought.
Shoes: Franco Sarto
What I Loved:
This dress is absolutely perfect. I haven’t felt this incredible in a dress in a very long time. The high waistline emphasizes the narrowest part of my body and the large horizontal blocks camouflage everything else! I wasn’t sure if the horizontals would work for me, but the blocking is big enough to be flattering. The A-line skirt is flowy and fun, you can’t help but feel pretty all day in this. At 5’10” I found it landed mid-thigh, which isn’t so bad when you are tall. Because my butt is not flat I did feel like the skirt was a tad too short in the back (I had to hold it down when the wind blew), but not enough to prevent me from wearing the dress to work.
The shoes were actually bought by my mother who gifted them to me. Uber comfortable, not too high, and super easy to walk in. Matched with a silver-plated necklace from Express, I thought this outfit was cute and fun for a day-to-night-look! I really can’t wait to wear this outfit again – my respect for dresses has reached a new level.
On a side note: hair was styled used the Rowenta Beauty Automatic curling iron – that will be discussed later.
